Philharmonic Orchestra 20/11/2011

Today is SUNDAY and the date today is 20-11-2011
Cool.
I spent my whole day @KLCC with family today.
It was pretty cool, everything went fine.

We went for this amazing Philharmonic Orchestra
Six of us went included my aunty.
This is the second time experienced this amazing music
There's a few picture I google-d how the hall looks like..since we can't take picture in there x.x
Here's the amazing place where they performed
You have to buy the programme book
& inside the book is more about how famous they are I guess?

When the pianist came on stage.
My eyes all on him.
He's amazing and he inspires me in all way
His name is Jean-Efflam Bavouzet, what a cool name.
Here's a few pictures of him ;D

I have to say , his smile is really sweet
he born in 1963, didn't even start concertizing until the '90s, when he was discovered by Georg Solti just before Solti's death (he was replaced by Boulez, with whom Bavouzet still collaborates).
He recorded just one CD before he was 30 years old (some Haydn), and his next CDs didn't materialize until 2005, well into his 40's. But he's one of the best pianists alive.

One of his first projects was to record the complete piano solo music of Ravel, which came out in 2005. He then signed an exclusive contract with Chandos, with whom he immediately began recording the complete piano works of Debussy, which was completed a few years ago.
After that there were recordings of the three Bartok concerti, the Ravel concerti (along with the Debussy Fantaisie and some shorter pieces by Massenet), and the first disc in a complete cycle of Haydn's piano sonatas.
He's also going to record the complete Beethoven sonatas!
& has said that he has many other plans with Chandos.

I think Bavouzet could be the first pianist I become a true "fan" of. His piano playing has brilliance, an uncanny sense of color, character aplenty--all while drawing absolutely no attention to himself. He's one of the most humble pianists I've ever heard (hence probably his "late blooming") in the best possible way.

Has anyone else heard this pianist?
Here's a video I found in Youtube.
His fingers are amazingly fast. I'm so into it right now x.x
HE IS COOL & AWESOME.

Alright. I'll type a lil about him which is written in the book

''Bavouzet's playing is characterised by his combination of muscularity and tonal nuance, his absolute textural clarity and his sense of atmospheric tension.''
-International Piano Magazine,February 2011

French Pianist Jean-Efflam Bavouzet's enthusiasm and artistic curiosity have led him to explore a repertoire ranging from Haydn,Beethoven,Bartok and Prokofiev, to contemporary works by composers such as Jorg Widmann and Bruno Mantovani , whose Piano Concerto (dedicated to Bavouzet) he performed in May2010 with the Orchestra National de Lille.

Now appearing the highest level, the seasons sees Bavouzet tour North America with the Orchestre National de France and Daniele Gatti, performing in New York,Chicago,Philadelphia,Montreal and Ottawa.
Current highlights include performances with London Philharmonic under Vladimir Jurowski at the BBC proms, Philharmonia Orchestra and Christoph Von Dohnanyi,Koonzerthausorchestar Berlin with Gilbert Varga and RSO Wien with Ingo Metzmacher at Vienna's Musikverein.
This seasons also sees him perform with the BBC Symphony Orchestra and Yan Pascal Tortelier, City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra under Pablo Heras-Casado and the Sydney Symphony with Vladimir Ashkenazy.Future appearances in the US include his debut with the New York Philharmonic at Vail Festival in July2011 and concerts with Boston Symphony in October2011.

An active recitalist,Jean-Efflam Bavouzet has performed at the International Piano Series at London's Southbank Centre, the Wigmore Hall, La Roque d'Antheron and Piano aux Jacobins Festival in France, Amsterdam's Concertgebouw and Muziekgebouw and Bozar.
A regular visitor to the Forbidden City Concert Hall in Beijing in May2011 he played the complete solo works of Ravel, having earlier received the annual Classical Elites Beijing ''Instrumental Recital of the Year'' award for his complete Beethoven Sonatas cycle in 2008.

An exclusive recording artist for Chandos, Jean-Efflam Bavouzet has won multiple awards for his recording project of Debussy's Complete Works for Solo Piano, including the Choc de I'annee in both 2007 &2008 (from Le Monde de la Musique magazine) and a Diapason d'Or award in 2008, culminating in a BBC Music Magazine Award for Volume3 of the cycle
& a Gramophone Award for Volume4.
The first volume of his new recital CD project of Haydn's complete piano Sonatas has also received prestigious Choc de I'annee award in 2010 while his recent recording of Batok's Piano Concertos with the BBC philharmonic and his recording of works by Ravel and Debussy with the BBC Symphony Orchestra have both received great critical acclaim.

A formal student of Pierre Sancan at the Paris Conservatoire,Bavouzet was invited by Sir George Solti to give his debut with the Orchestra de Paris in 1995 & is widely considered as the Maestro's last discovery.
As well as his performing activities, Bavouzet has also recently completed a transcription for two pianos of Debussy's dance poem, Jeux, published by Durand with a foreword by Pierre Boulze.
He won first prize in the International Beethoven Competition in Cologne as well as the Young Concert Artists Auditions in New York in 1986: He has since maintained a closer relationship with YCA & appears fir them in New York and China this year. ;)

See? Told you he's way too cool.
;D
Well, I'm lazy to type about the conductor.
His name is Alexander Shelley.
I'll post it next time I guess?
Today was amazingly fun because of the Philharmonic Orchestra.
I just love it.
Will go there some other time AGAIN.
I guess that's just all about today.
Will update you guys very soon
Still a reminder : COME FOR CAMP OKAY!

Much love,
God bless,
Janice.
